The Dhol Players — The Heartbeat of Your Celebration
Professional dhol players and Band Baja ensemble for South Asian weddings, corporate events and celebrations across the UK.
WHO WE ARE
The UK's Professional Dhol Players and Band Baja Ensemble
The Dhol Players are a professional dhol and Band Baja ensemble serving South Asian weddings, corporate events, and cultural celebrations across the United Kingdom. We have performed at over 500 weddings — from intimate mehndi nights in London banqueting halls to grand multi-day wedding programmes in West Yorkshire, Birmingham, and beyond.
Our performers are experienced specialists in South Asian wedding traditions — the baraat procession, the mehndi night, the sangeet, the reception dancefloor. We understand the timing, the energy, the cultural expectations, and the musical requirements of each moment in a way that only comes from performing at hundreds of real weddings.
We are also a Band Baja ensemble — offering the full traditional brass and dhol combination that defines the grand baraat. Whether you need a single dhol player for an intimate ceremony entrance or a full Band Baja ensemble for a large outdoor baraat, we have the team and the experience.
OUR EXPERTISE
What We Specialise In
Baraat Processions
We have led hundreds of baraat processions across the UK — from short hotel forecourt arrivals to long street processions with 200+ guests. The baraat is our most-booked service and the one we know most deeply.
South Asian Weddings
Full-day wedding coverage — mehndi night, baraat, ceremony entrances, and reception dancefloor. We work across Punjabi, Pakistani, Hindu, and multicultural wedding traditions.
Band Baja
Traditional brass and dhol ensemble for grand baraats. Shehnai, trumpet, clarinet, and dhol — the full melodic and percussive sound of a traditional South Asian wedding procession.
Mehndi and Sangeet
Pre-wedding night specialists. We understand the difference between a baraat set and a sustained mehndi dancefloor — and we play each accordingly.
Corporate Events
Grand openings, product launches, award ceremonies. Fully insured and experienced at adapting live dhol to formal corporate environments.
UK-Wide Coverage
We cover every county in England. Based across London, the South East, Midlands, and the North — with dedicated coverage in over 26 counties.
Our Principles
What guides how we prepare, perform, and work with every client.
Professional Reliability
We understand what is at stake at a wedding or a major corporate event. Punctuality, seamless coordination with your venue and other suppliers, and flawless execution are our baselines — not our selling points. Every single booking.
Cultural Authenticity
Rooted in the Punjabi dhol tradition, we honour the rich heritage of South Asian wedding music while delivering it with the professionalism that modern events require. We are practitioners of the tradition, not imitators of it.
Tailored Performances
Every wedding is different. Every baraat runs differently, every mehndi crowd has different energy, every sangeet has a unique programme. We plan each performance around your specific event — never a generic set dropped into your day.
What Sets Us Apart
Every detail of our service is designed around one goal — making your event unforgettable.
01 — TAILORED PERFORMANCES
Planned Around Your Event — Never Generic
No two weddings are the same. We request your running order before every booking and plan each performance phase around it — when to build energy, when to hold back, and when to peak. The baraat has a different arc from the mehndi; the reception entrance is different from the dancefloor. We prepare for each moment specifically, which is why our performances feel right for your event rather than imported from someone else's.
02 — PRESENTATION & PROFESSIONALISM
Smart Attire, Immaculate Instruments, On Time Every Time
Our performers arrive in coordinated traditional Punjabi attire — smartly presented, always on time, instruments properly maintained. We hold full public liability insurance and carry documentation for venues that require it. Our team communicates proactively with your wedding coordinator and other suppliers to ensure smooth handoffs and no surprises on the day.
WHERE WE WORK
Covering the Whole of England
We have dedicated dhol and Band Baja coverage in 26 counties across England. Our strongest markets are London, Surrey, Kent, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, and Leicestershire — but we travel to all counties. If your venue is in England, we cover it.
